Hope This Gives You Hell!
The name's Katie. I prefer music, fashion, and books. This is what this blog is going to be about.
Let's start, shall we?

Music News:

They have a new song, titled "Give You Hell." I have to admit I did not like if very much at first. Maybe I've been brainwashed by pop culture, maybe it had to grow on me. It's different than many of their other songs. In fact it's probably different than ALL of their songs. It has more of an electric feel, which is becoming increasingly popular in most genres of music.
I have been a fan of the All-American Rejects since Swing, Swing and Paper Heart. They had a different sound for the album Move Along, and although I preferred their first album, Move Along was satisfactory. Maybe they'll pull through their sophomore slump and turn up the heat after a two/three year hiatus. And as long as they keep playing Swing, Swing and Paper Heart and enticing crowd surfing contests, despite large signs forbiding crowd surfing, as they did in Houston, Texas in November of 2006 at Houston... I'll keep showing up.

Beauty Critique:

I was in Sephora on Saturday. I love Sephora and am addicted to beauty products, I won't lie... but however...
I needed some new foundation (I ended up choosing Sephora Brand Hydrating & Smoothing Foundation), and then tacked on white eyeliner (Urban Decay) and mascara (Stila Multi-effect Mascara).
I have been very dissatisfied with foundations in the past. And here's why, I have very pink cheeks and as the day goes on... I turn from rosy to lobster. The only foundation I've tried that works 100% is my mom's foundation: Lancome Absolue Replenishing Cream which runs about $57 and up. I have also tried Lancome Teint Idole Ultra and Covergirl. Neither have worked.
Instead of rushing into another dissappointment, I decided to ask the employee their about it's coverage. I explained to her about my red-cheeked torment... and she asked me if I had ever invested in a neutralizer! I wondered why I had never come up with this wonderful idea before. And she pulled out Lorac Oil Free Neutralizer (as pictured: Sephora.com; 30 dollars). She asked if I already had make-up, which... of course I did. So she gave me a sample to take and try.
I'm thankful I got to take it home... If she had put this mess on my face, I might have slapped her. This afternoon, I decided that now would be a good time to try it. I had just gotten done working around the house, and my face was possibly at it's reddest. I put it on, and immediately... it was EXTREMELY STICKY. I cannot overexaggerate this sticky torture. It was like putting a chocolate bar that had been residing in the glove compartment of a pick-up truck in the middle of a Texas summer on my face. I didn't really want to put it on my face... but if it fixed the red-headed stepchildren living in my cheeks... I could put up with some sticky.
One coat, two coats, three coats later and my face is probably redder than it was to begin with! I wanted to scream. Unfortunately, I'm now running late and had to continue on putting on make-up! Because of the dried, sticky goop on my face.... my foundation wouldn't even go on smooth. My face now looks like rocky terrain, and I'm completely irritated.
At least I didn't waste thirty dollars on that concoction. Moral of the story: samples are good!

Fashion Forward:

Adriana Lima is my favorite Victoria's Secret Angel. End of story. But then again, I LOVE Victoria's Secret. I watched last year's Christmas show at least seven times.

I love this design. It's very sexy, and beautiful. I'm totally loving the wings.

Who can't love Victoria's Secret, after all?
